Nithin Babu clear first at Fouesnant Open 2025, Nitin S second
Nithin Babu scored an unbeaten 6/7 to win Fouesnant Open A (>1500) 2025. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. IM Nitin S and Mickael Batteux (FRA) scored 5.5/7 each. They also remained undefeated, secure second and third place respectively according to tie-breaks. The first prize was €1000. The five-day seven round Rating tournament was organized by Echiquier du Pays Fouesnantais from 25th to 29th October 2025 in Fouesnant, France. IM Muthaiah Al, WFM Arya G Mallar and Drishtee Ghosh scored 5/7 each. They were placed fourth, fifth and seventh according to tie-breaks. This is Nithin's second tournament triumph of the year. Nithin's second triumph of the year
Nithin Babu, IM Muthaiah Al and IM Nitin S were the three leaders at 5/6, before the last round. Nithin defeated Muthaiah to become a clear champion. WFM Arya G Mallar drew against Nitin, the latter finished third and the former fifth. Muthaiah was placed fourth. Drishtee Ghosh is the only other Indian to make a top ten finish. She scored 5/7 to claim seventh place. The total participation was 120 players - 73 in Open A (>1500) and 47 in Open B (<1600).
A total of 73 players including 2 IMs took part from various parts of France and five from India in the Open A (>1500) section. The five-day seven round Rating tournament was organized by Echiquier du Pays Fouesnantais from 25th to 29th October 2025 in Fouesnant, France. The tournament had a time control of 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment from move no. 1.
